I was blessed to be able to bring some supplies to the Journey guys today and I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day to do it. It was a nice crisp morning and the sun quickly warmed everything up. The perfect day to be in the outdoors!
Driving up, the guys were practicing their newly acquired skill of making ashcakes. They were not too disappointed at the opportunity to forego the ashcakes and eat the biscuits and gravy that I carried as part of my cargo.
Mark shared that he was a little bummed because he got one of his favorite pairs of shorts a little to close to the outdoor clothes dryer (aka the campfire). The picture was priceless. I am also posting a few photos I snapped as they were packing up their gear to head a little further down the trail.
Everyone is doing well and adjusting to life in the outdoors.
After a couple of days of hiking, it is a lot easier to think of items you would rather live without than have to carry around "just in case". This is already a quite different perspective than what everyone was thinking in the preparation for the journey.
Needless to say, I ended up with random pieces of clothing/gear from everyone's packs in the car on my drive back this afternoon so they could "lighten their load".
As in the natural…..let it be so in the Spirit! I am praying that everyone is shedding the weights of this world carried around so unnecessarily.
